Rep. Ty Winter is taking the fight to Colorado Democrats

By Duncan Luning

“There’s tons of fight left in this dog and we’re just going to keep going,” Said Rep. Ty Winter (R) in an exclusive interview with Campfire Colorado regarding the Republicans in the House. Or the “Mighty 19” as he proudly called himself and his 18 fellow Republicans in the House.

Rep. Winter has fought for his rural constituents in Colorado’s 47th district. In addition to serving on three committees, he has sponsored multiple bills regarding property rights, energy, and more.

When asked about what the remaining time of this session looks like, he said “It’s going to be fast and furious.” He continued to mention how the Second Amendment and abortion have been major topics of discussion. That is, until Democrats invoked Rule 14 and halted all debate, which Rep. Winter said, “didn’t silence our voices, it silenced the voices of our constituents.”

In a statement to the people of Colorado, Rep. Winter said, “Know that myself and the Mighty 19 are fighting for you. We hear your voices, we see your emails, we see your phone calls, we hear your encouragement, we feel your prayers and just know that we’ve dug in our heels. At the end of the day, we’re on the right side of history, we’ve got God behind us, we have ethics behind us, we have values behind us, and we will not stop. I have committed to my constituents, I will run as many times as they’ll send me to the State Capitol to fight for them, their beliefs, their heritage, their way of life, and I refuse to back down.”
