Mayor John Suthers endorses John Kellner for Attorney General

By Matt Connelly

Colorado Springs Mayor John Suthers endorsed John Kellner for Attorney General yesterday at an event in Colorado Springs.

“I’m asking the citizens of Colorado to make a much-needed change in the Attorney General’s office and elect John Kellner,” said Suthers.

“Public Safety is the first and foremost, essential job of government. The sad reality is, the people of Colorado are much less safe today than they were just four years ago. Violent crimes and property crimes have risen,” continued Suthers.

Suthers pointed to public policies that have led to the rise in crime Coloradans are experiencing today. “Over the last four years, the majority in the legislature have systematically undermined the ability of our police and our prosecutors to protect us and they’ve done so by passing laws that reduce sentences, reduce felonies to misdemeanors, provide for early release from prison and make it easier to be released on bond.”

Suthers previously served as Colorado’s Attorney General from 2005 until 2015.
