Colorado Republican Gubernatorial Candidate Heidi Ganahl is calling on Governor Jared Polis to fire Mike Willis, the director of Colorado’s Office of Emergency Management.
Willis has become embroiled in scandal recently following a report from the Denver Post that reports Willis was accused of being drunk during the response to the 2019 shooting at STEM School in Highlands Ranch.
Additionally, the Post reports, “More than once, Willis has been drunk after-hours at industry conferences and nearly fought other attendees, multiple witnesses told The Post.”
It doesn’t end with drunkenness while responding to emergency situations or representing our state at conferences, the full Denver Post report has multiple harrowing stories about Willis berating employees.
In one case, Willis berates a female employee and points his finger into her temple.
According to the Denver Post, ““Willis has been suspended twice over the past 18 months for behavior that included berating female staffers, throwing objects in rage and intimidating workers to the point they thought it was close to getting physical”
