Colorado liberals are calling for a primary against Sen. John Hickenlooper

Senator John Hickenlooper sent out a fairly benign tweet on Friday afternoon about his upcoming reelection campaign in 2026 and the results probably weren’t exactly what he expected.

In response to Hickenlooper’s tweet, Colorado liberals had a bit of a meltdown and called for Hickenlooper to face a primary opponent in 2026:

In 2026, Hickenlooper will be 74.

In 2032, when that term is complete, he'll be 80.

The average age of Coloradoans is 37 and 84% of Coloradoans are under 65.
