On Tuesday, Democrats passed three pro-abortion bills in the committee stage. SB-188 “Protections For Accessing Reproductive Health Care”, SB-190 “Deceptive Trade Practice Pregnancy-related Service”, and SB-189 “Increasing Access to Reproductive Health Care”.
In the Judiciary committee, SB-188 and SB-190 passed along party lines. Apart from SB-190 with one Democrat vote. SB-188 restricts health care providers and facilities when it comes to “reproductive or gender-affirming health care services.” SB-190 prohibits health care providers from even attempting a medical abortion reversal.
In the Health & Insurance committee, SB-189 also passed along party lines. This bill would require large employer plans to provide coverage for the “total cost of abortion care without policy deductibles, copayments, or coinsurance.”
In a statement from the House GOP, they stated “The Colorado House Republicans remain committed to standing strong on our pro-life values and will continue to fight these bills when they eventually come to the House floor for debate. Thank you to all those who showed up to testify and give your support for us and the pro-life community.”
