After School Satan Club Launches First-Ever Chapter at a Colorado Elementary School

According to a Greeley Tribune story, the After School Satan Club launched its first Colorado chapter at Paonia K-8 school in Delta County. June Everett, a Colorado Springs-based ordained Satanic Temple minister, claims in an interview:

“We believe in Satan as a symbol of standing up to tyrannical authority.” She continued, “People at the Satanic Temple consider themselves their own god.”

The ASSC handbook claims that Satan, the religious embodiment of evil, 

“is a literary figure that represents a metaphorical construct of rejecting tyranny over the human mind and spirit.”
